Formally introduced HDMI 2.0 interface with support for Retina iTV

Non-profit organization HDMI Forum has officially announced the specification of the new standard digital interface HDMI version 2.0. HDMI 2.0 provides a significant capacity increase – from 10.2 to 18 Gb / s and allowing the transmission of video in 4K (2160p). 

Interface, including the connecting cables and connectors, designed for playback on high-definition television video (HD). According to the developer, HDMI 2.0 allows to broadcast video resolution 4000 pixels per square inch (3840 × 2160), and 60 frames / sec.

In addition to transferring high resolution video, HDMI 2.0 also supports the transfer of a 32-channel audio, dynamic synchronization of audio and video streams, other extensions bidirectional serial bus transfer and data management. In this HDMI 2.0 connection remains unchanged, as it provides appropriate bandwidth and necessary for compatibility with the previous standards.
