Sony could become a supplier image sensors for the front and rear chambers of the future generation iPhone. It is reported portal MacRumors citing authoritative Japanese site Nikkei.

Since then, as was introduced iPhone 4s, Sony launched the production of sensors for the rear camera smartphone Apple, while the front camera sensors supplied by OmniVision. Apparently, in Cupertino decided to get rid of excess provider and fully entrust Sony this important task.

Historically, that the front iPhone camera always took pictures of lower quality than the back camera. For example, iPhone 5s, presented last fall, features an 8-megapixel rear camera and 1.2 megapixel front. And if Apple pays special attention to the main chamber with every new generation of the iPhone, then the front often improves slightly.

Sony recently acquired another factory which is rumored will release additional sensors to Apple. Japanese corporation to invest in to about 350 million dollars, which will increase monthly production by 25%.

It is no secret that in recent years the front iPhone camera often used to “self” – pictures of himself. Photo service Instagram literally swamped with similar photos, so if Apple entrust front camera Sony, there is no doubt that the pictures become better.

Apple is clearly not involved in the “megapixel race”, which is trying to develop Nokia with its 41-megapixel smartphones. The company’s engineers are trying to improve the iPhone’s camera by shooting additional tools , dual LED-flash and so on. Nevertheless, a few days ago leaked rumors that the iPhone 6 will receive a 10-megapixel camera .

Hopefully, the fruits of cooperation Apple and Sony we’ll really be able to look this fall, and not a year later.
