In 2014, tablets will overtake laptops twice


According to the forecasts of the analytical agency NPD DisplaySearch, in 2014, the supply tablets globally will total 364 million units, which is twice more than the shipment of conventional and ultra-thin laptops (177 million units). In 2013, the plates for the first time will outstrip supply laptops. Next, the gap between them will increase against the background of a slight decline notebook shipments.

According to experts, by 2017, tablet shipments could reach 589 million units. In this notebook shipments will decline to 176 million. Analysts clear trend of consumer shift toward tablets.

Of particular popularity of these gadgets were in developing countries. The inhabitants of these regions often opt for Android-plates entry level, which are low cost, relatively long battery life, compact size.

Interestingly, the proportion of tablets with screens with a diagonal of 8 inches or less will be 59% of the market. But by 2015 this figure could increase to 63%.
